Jakarta – As the operational center of PT Indosat Tbk, Indosat’s Head Office has officially achieved the Greenship Existing Building Gold Level certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). This achievement highlights Indosat’s commitment to providing the best services while also creating a more environmentally friendly and sustainable building amidst the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry.
This certificate was officially handed over by the CEO of Ecobuild Green Building Consultant, Wiza Hidayat, to the SPV Facility Management of PT Indosat Tbk, Ferdy Timothi Sinaga. The handover was also witnessed by the Secretary-General of the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), Iparman Oesman, on Friday (14/02/2025).
This achievement demonstrates Indosat’s efforts in integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into every aspect of its operations. Indosat’s Head Office serves as tangible proof of this implementation through energy efficiency measures, the use of eco-friendly materials, optimal water management, and enhanced building user comfort.
According to Ferdy Timothy Sinaga, SPV Facility Management of PT Indosat Tbk, this achievement is a remarkable accomplishment for Indosat’s Head Office, which has been operating for 36 years and serving 3,000 employees daily. “This is a form of Indosat’s commitment to making a positive contribution to people and the environment through energy efficiency and improved services,” he stated.
Ferdy also emphasized his commitment to applying similar sustainability standards in other Indosat buildings. He also expressed hope that the Greenship certification for Indosat’s Head Office could be upgraded to the Platinum level. “We can move up to the Platinum ranking, only 8 points are left,” he stated, emphasizing Indosat’s commitment to optimizing its green building standards.
As a green building consultant based in Jakarta, Ecobuild Green Building Consultant has played an active role in supporting Indosat toward this achievement. Indosat’s Head Office has met the environmentally-friendly office requirements set by the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) with a total of 75 points, covering various important aspects such as Appropriate Site Development (ASD), Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC), Water Conservation (WAC), Material Resources and Cycle (MRC), Indoor Health and Comfort (IHC), and Building Environment Management (BEM).
Several significant improvements applied to Indosat’s Head Office include the expansion of green areas to 1,478 sqm, energy efficiency of 17.67% with an IKE value of 246.98 kWh/m²/year, water savings of 10.5% with clean water consumption of only 44.77 liters/person/day, the use of eco-friendly materials, the implementation of an Outdoor Air Introduction system, and various other innovations that support sustainability.
