Urban growth increases the need for space while also creating environmental challenges. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the building and construction sector accounts for 37% of global CO₂ emissions, uses 28% of global energy, and requires nearly 50% of materials extracted from nature. These challenges call for changes in how buildings are designed, built, and used, including through the adoption of green building principles and collaboration across sectors.
As a Green Building Consultant, Ecobuild contributes to the development of green building practices through various initiatives, including Green Building Certification, Green Building Pilot Projects, Energy Program, Green Design, Green Education, Green Movement, and Green Career. In 2025, Ecobuild Green Building Consultant delivered 30+ projects across 22 cities, covering 823,414.96 m² of green building projects, with 25,606,708.64 tons of CO₂e savings, 1,057,308.60 m³/day of water savings, and 39,736,772.25 MWh/year of energy savings.
During the Opening Ceremony of Indonesia Green Building Festival 2026 in Jakarta, Wiza Hidayat, CEO of Ecobuild Green Building Consultant, was appointed as a Steering Committee member and took part in declaring September as Indonesia Green Building Month, an initiative by the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI).
For Ecobuild Green Building Consultant, being part of this initiative is part of a broader effort to raise awareness and encourage green building practices at the national level. Through collaboration and various green building initiatives, Ecobuild Green Building Consultant continues to support the development of more resource-efficient and environmentally responsible buildings in Indonesia.
